TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU)-- The National Cherry Festival is in full swing, and on Monday, hundreds of kids participated in one of the festival's biggest traditions.

The Kids Pie Eating Contest was held Monday afternoon at F&M Park.

Kids of all ages packed into F&M Park and waited their turn to try and eat a piece of cherry pie as quickly as possible.

They weren't allowed to use any utensils or their hands.

Age classifications ranged from pre-school to 12 years old.

Everyone who ate it all, no matter their time, was given a ribbon for participation.
