TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU)--The 91st Annual National Cherry Festival officially kicked off with the Opening Ceremony Saturday morning.

The ceremony followed the Cherry Pancake Breakfast where dozens of people gathered at the Lay's Cherry Blast Stage to start the festivities.

The Cherry Festival President along side the Cherry Queen and her court honored the Traverse City Mayor, Michigan State Police and the U.S. Coast Guard at the ceremony.

They were all given a Cherry Festival print for their service to the festival and Traverse City.
