OMH Medical Group-Indian River is having a direct impact on patients' lives. The clinic through Otsego Memorial Hospital expanded services in early January because of a larger facility.
"Being able to provide the specialty care services such as OB-GYN and pediatrics and other services provided we're able to bring care we could only provide in the Gaylord office up to Indian River. It makes it convenient for people in the area," says nurse practitioner, Beth Wilson.
Wilson says women's health takes a top priority at the clinic.
"Throughout the pregnancy they have to come to quite a few appointments and being able to provide those services here really helps them with travel time. We provide digital mammography so we're able to provide mammograms in the office," says Wilson.
For pediatrician Jennifer Atkins, building a relationship with her patients is something she strives to maintain.
"I think it's really awesome to be able to have that opportunity to be a critical member of their lives and make sure they're making good health decisions. Also, it's helpful to guide their parents," says Atkins.
Part of that patient relationship building means making services convenient for families.
"Our office is trying to make sure we have a variety of hours to work with schedules whether kids are in sports or parents who have to work," says Atkins.
Atkins says it's a long term investment.
"I've been impressed with the investment Otsego Memorial has put into this clinic. They're making an investment for kids and definitely putting forth the effort to make it comfortable for families that come in," says Atkins.
The OMH Medical Group also provides radiology services and laboratory phlebotomy services since the former site first opened in October 2012. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 to 5 p.m.
