Three millages have been approved for the November ballot in Otsego County.
The decision to take the millages to the voters was made at a County Board of Commissioners meeting Tuesday morning.
A road millage is also being proposed to bring in about $1,155,00 for road improvements and upgrades over ten years.
Another millage would be for one year to help with maintenance and capital improvements at the Otsego County Emergency Medical Services facility. It would also help in the future purchase of two ambulances. The millage would bring in about $1,175,000.
Lastly, a millage would help maintain the Otsego County Sportsplex as well as give to capital improvements. The five-year millage would raise about $218,000 per year.
At a public hearing earlier this month, there was little debate about the need for improvements to roads and emergency medical service vehicles, but the millage for the Sportsplex caused much debate. There was a millage for the Sportsplex on the May ballot failed by 31 votes. Officials say the turnout in May was just 10 percent and are hoping with a larger turnout in November, the millage will pass.
