Five people were assaulted by one man Friday afternoon at the South Higgins Lake State Park, sending a DNR officer to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It started when a camper found a man attempting to damage a stop sign at the park.
Authorities say the intoxicated man, who was also believed to be high on drugs, assaulted the camper and two others, along with a park ranger and the DNR state employee.
The suspect was charged with multiple counts of assault and resisting and obstructing officers.
The investigation also led officers to arrest two minors at the park, one for possession of marijuana and alcohol and the other for possession of alcohol.
The minors were not connected to the assaults.
