It's that time of year again! Get ready for the ninth annual Munson Hospice Gift Basket Silent Auction.
In the past eight years, the auction has raised over $93,000 for the Hospice center.
On average, they see 45-65 baskets... and each one has a different theme. Each department puts together a "basket" that can go from a small basket with little gifts tucked inside to a wheelbarrow full of supplies. Things like quilts and getaway trips have also been given away. One of the biggest baskets was a child's bed full of goodies-which went for over $3500.
The HR Director of Munson Home Health, Linda Wanek, said it gives the community a way to see Munson employees "not just as the person that helps you or the person that cleans the floors or the bathrooms, but see them as people that want to give to something that they believe in. And the artistry, the variety, the fun, it's just a wonderful thing to participate in and to see." Her favorite thing about the event is seeing so many people work together for such a great cause.
The baskets come in all different themes, shapes, and sizes and photos will be available at the Munson Hospice website: munsonhomehealth.org/basketauction
The auction is held in the Munson Medical Center Cafeteria, making it easy to enjoy lunch and browse the basket choices, and all proceeds benefit the Munson Hospice House.
