16-year-old rescued after falling in Muskegon River
A 16-year-old was rescued yesterday after falling into the Muskegon River Saturday evening.
A youth was tubing with fellow members of the Muslim Community of Western Suburbs, when he fell out of a tube behind the Big Rapids Middle School.
The other members of MCWS were unable to see the youth after that.
Members of the Big Rapids City Rescue located the boy near the mouth of Mitchell Creek as it enters the Muskegon River.
Rescue was then able to pull the victim from the water and do resuscitation.
The youth was then flown to the Grand Rapids hospital and is in ICU in critical condition.
The name of the victim is not being given at this time.
