A 68-year-old man from Harrison Township, hit a breakwater while driving his boat in Ludington on Sunday night injuring one person.
According to the Mason County Press, a 34-foot boat hit the north breakwater around 9:30 p.m.
The breakwater will be closed on Tuesday for the removal of the boat that crashed into the barrier on Sunday evening.
The owner and captain of the boat was James Winfield. Winfield said that the boat was about 200 yards of the barrier when the boat went through some fog.
Winfield was checking his GPS when he noticed his electronics had shut down. The boat then crashed into the barrier that damaged the bow.
The Mason County Press also says that six additional people were on the boat. A male passenger was taken to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital after having neck pain.
Alcohol was not a factor. No criminal charges are being charged.
