911 dispatcher reports assault after caller hangs up
LEELANAU COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Lake Leelanau man was arrested on several charges after deputies say he assaulted his wife.
A Leelanau County Dispatcher says the center received a 911 hangup call around 12:13 a.m. Sunday.
The dispatcher says they could hear screaming in the background prior to the phone call being disconnected and deputies were dispatched to the home on South French Road.
Investigators say a 34-year-old woman came to the home to pick up two children from her 30-year-old husband when an argument occurred during which the husband pushed the woman.
Deputies say the wife attempted to call 911 but the husband took the phone from her.
The Leelanau County Sheriff's Office says the altercation was witnessed by the two small children.
The man faces charges of suspicion of domestic assault and for interfering with telecommunications.
