A beautiful Sunday for northern Michigan
Sun, 08 Sep 2013 10:00:00 GMT —
Although we saw scattered showers for Saturday, the second half of the weekend will be much nicer.
High pressure moves in to the region Sunday, giving us plenty of sunshine. We'll feel a lot cooler and less humid too. High temperatures will be in the mid and upper 60s for the northernmost counties, then spread into the low mid 70s for the L.P.
Winds Sunday will be out of the east at 5-15mph, but there may be gusts near 20mph.
Cloud cover will increase in the evening and overnight into Monday, which is when our next system moves in, along with our next chance of rain.
Expect a rollercoaster of temperatures this week as high pressure moves east and low pressure moves in from the plains.
Low pressure enters Minnesota and Wisconsin Monday, its warm front bringing a nudge in afternoon highs Monday, and Tuesday will be the hot and humid day of the week - with many hitting 90 degrees. Tuesday will be a bit breezy as well with west winds gusting around 30mph. A cold front comes through Wednesday, keeping showers in the forecast into Thursday, but cools us down to end the week.
