Seeing a mix of sun & clouds Wednesday, nicer weather to end the week, and a wet weekend ahead.
Wednesday morning began with a few flurries falling inland and towards the Lake Huron side of the lower peninsula. That's mainly where we saw cloud cover also, along with in the E. U.P. Elsewhere, most saw the full moon and some stars. The day will be a mix of sun and clouds, and turn mostly cloudy later - remaining that way overnight.
Although there was a relatively light breeze during the early morning hours, our NW wind picked up mid-morning and the gusts became more abundant as well. Expect winds Wednesday to be at 5-15mph with gusts in the mid 20s - creating a decent windchill to temperatures in the mid 30s to around 40 degrees.
We'll see a little more sun for Thursday, but keep temperatures relatively in the same range as Wednesday. Friday and the start to Saturday look to be beautiful! Lots of sunshine, light winds, and temperatures in the E. U.P. in the upper 30s to around 40, and in the L.P. in the mid to upper 40s - great travel weather.
Things change Saturday evening as low pressure crosses north of us in Canada and it's accompanying cold front moves through. Expect rain/wintry mix/snow as overnight lows are right around freezing (warmer to the Central Lower, cooler for the U.P.). If you have outdoor plans for your Sunday, you may want to plan a back-up as it looks to be quite soggy. Wintry mix and rain north and rain for most of the L.P. We'll then see this change over to mix and snow overnight, and turn into lake effect snows for Monday. We'll continue to keep you updated on the holiday forecast!
