Additional details are being released in the crash involving a propane tanker and a car on M-68 in Forest Township Wednesday.

According to the Cheboygan County Sheriff's Office, deputies suspect the driver of the car that crossed the center line, Melissa Skidmore, 38, of Tower, may have been drinking. Blood test results are pending from the State Police forensic lab.

The driver of the tanker truck was Stefan Smith, 55, of Houghton Lake.

Both drivers were taken to McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. Their status is unknown at this time.

M-68 was closed for over 12 hours, opening up shortly after 10 a.m.

Ferrel Gas Company, who owned the propane tanker, arrived with another tanker and safely transferred the propane.

A "voluntary evacuation" was issued while the propane was transferred.

The report of the crash will be forwarded to the Cheboygan County Prosecutor's Office for review for any possible charges once all evidence is collected.
