"Bullitt" Mustang owner honors father's memory with tour
The Ford Mustang GT Fastback that starred in the 1968 blockbuster "Bullitt" is on display at Hagerty Insurance until February 14th.
The owner, Sean Kiernan, stopped in town for a visit Tuesday.
The car has been in Kiernan's family for 44 years. His dad bought it off a classified ad in 1974.
Kiernan says his parents drove it every day for six years, eventually letting him in on the secret.
The family always planned to reveal the car to the public, but Sean says life got in the way.
His dad has since passed. Kiernan says it's been an overwhelming process, but also extremely gratifying.
"When I eventually revealed it to the world, I felt like dad was right there with me," Kiernan said. "I kind of felt like he's been there with me since day one since the reveal honestly."
Kiernan says his goal is to show the car off to as many people as he can, and hopefully do a tour.
