Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City was awarded the 2012 MH-65 Aviation Standardization Excellence Award.
The award is given to stations for exemplary performance during their annual standardization evaluation, which was held in September.
The top units in each aviation community are given the award based on pilot and crewmember flight performance, exam scores, training records, overall unit evaluation and rescue swimmer physical training performance.
"I could not be prouder of the men and women of the Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City," said Cmdr. Joseph Buzzella, Commanding Officer. "This achievement is truly a testament to their hard work and dedication to the Coast Guard's Core Values and Missions. This further shows the unit's dedication to ensuring the citizens of the Great Lakes can count on Air Station Traverse City to be Semper Paratus - 'Always Ready' - for the call."
The award is presented by the Coast Guard Aviation Training Center located in Mobile, Alabama.
