Alpena woman killed after losing control on icy road

A 22-year-old Alpena woman was killed after losing control of her car on US 23 Tuesday afternoon.

A 22-year-old Alpena woman was killed in a crash at US 23 and Grand Lake Highway Tuesday afternoon.

According to Michigan State Police, she lost control on the icy, snow-covered road. A 43-year-old Rogers City man in a truck hit her car.

The man was taken to the hospital. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers want to remind drivers to be aware of changing road conditions and to adjust their driving habits.
