      Antrim County deputy accused of stealing money, while on-duty

      An Antrim County deputy was charged on Tuesday for stealing from a home while he was assisting the Michigan State Police with an investigation.

      An Antrim County deputy was charged on Tuesday for stealing from a home while he was assisting the Michigan State Police with an investigation.

      According to the Michigan State Police, Dep. Michael Bingham stole $500 from a home located on Williams St., Mancelona on June 18.

      Dep. Bingham is facing an obstruction of justice charge as well as a larceny of a building charge.

      Dep. Bingham is out on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond, which is a conditional obligation that he will continue to show up for his court dates. He scheduled for a pretrial on July 31 and a preliminary exam on Aug. 5.
