Two suspects, a 57-year-old Harrison man and a 56-year-old Cadillac woman, were arrested for armed robbery on Friday.
According to the Clare County Sheriff's Office, the first robbery happened around 1:45 p.m. at the Chemical Bank in Harrison. It was reported that the suspect pulled out a handgun and threatened to shoot the children at the local school if he wasn't given money.
The suspect got away with an unknown amount of cash and drove south in a red Chevrolet SUV. He was described as a thin, white male about 5'05 with long dark hair and gray streaks. He also had a tear drop tattoo near his right eye.
Sheriff's deputies put the schools and government buildings on lockdown.
Then around 4 p.m., there was a second armed robbery at the Chemical Bank in Hayes Township, just north of Harrison. Witnesses described the same suspect as the first robbery. Sheriff's deputies chased the suspect's vehicle north on Clare Avenue from Hampton Road.
The man and the woman inside the vehicle were arrested. Both suspects are in the Clare County Jail, waiting to be arraigned. They could also be facing more charges.
