An arson investigation is underway at a Manistee Public School building.
Students at the Manistee High School and Manistee Middle School are being sent home for the day after the small fire. The fire was started in a trash can in the boys bathroom. While there was minimal damage from the fire, the superintendent tells 7&4 News, there is a lot of smoke and soot damage.
A cleaning crew will work through out the night. School is expected to be back in session Thursday morning.
Police are working with school officials to determine who started the fire. There are several cameras in the hallway that police are looking over to determine suspects.
