For the past 19 years ATHENA Grand Traverse has honored individuals who have demonstrated excellence, improved the quality of life, and helped women reach their full leadership potential. The honor this year was bestowed upon Cathie Martin, who was named the 2013 ATHENA Grand Traverse Award Recipient.
Martin is the Executive Director of Infection Control Service, LLC and Michigan Infectious Disease Society. ATHENA describes her as "being instrumental in promoting the welfare of patients, advancing the education of nurses and physicians, and advocating for legislation that has improved the lives of people throughout the Grand Traverse area and the state of Michigan."
ATHENA says the Martin has also donated tens of thousands of hours to a wide variety of organizations and charities which have helped improved the lives, education, and health of men, women, and children.
ATHENA Grand Traverse is a local branch of ATHENA, which is a non profit organization that seeks to support, develop, and honor women leaders.
