Authorities have released the name of the man who was found dead in an open field in Traverse City on Tuesday night.
Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Deputies say the 32-year-old man has been identified as Ivan Nathaniel White Myers. Two horseback riders discovered his body while riding in a field near Farm Lane, in what police call "Section 31" of East Bay Township. He was found fully clothed, face down, with an article of clothing covering his face. He also had a black backpack with him, which authorities have not disclosed the contents of.
Police say there was no trauma to the body which indicates no foul play.
However, they are investigating the death as suspicious because of where he was found.
