Authorities searching for possible suspect in Wexford County
Authorities in Wexford County have called off the search for a suspect after receiving a call about a vehicle on fire on Tuesday morning.
According to the Wexford County Sheriff's Office, a person of interest has been located just east of the search area.
Wexford County Deputies responded to the fire at 7 a.m. on US-131. Employees at the Eldorado Golf Course say they saw a man running from the smoky scene.
The suspect is described as a white male, medium built between 5'10 and 6' ft. He is believed to be wearing a gray sweatshirt with orange spotting.
Deputies have spotted the possible suspect three times, the last time he was seen was around 11 a.m. heading west near the intersection of 48th rd. and 37th rd. The second time that suspect was spotted was on the White Pine Trail just north on 48 1/2.
The authorities called of the search based on weather conditions. The K-9 units got warn out and lost track of the suspect.
Roaming patrols will be left in the area. The police is asking for the public to contact the Wexford County Dispatch if they see the described man.
The vehicle that was on fire was left at a local car shop on Saturday by the the owners. This was the last time that the owners saw the vehicle.
Deputies are trying to find him to investigate the car fire.
