TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) – A 51-year-old man is being accused of embezzling thousands of dollars from a boat dealership in Garfield Township.

Gregory Whiteford was charged Thursday on one count of embezzlement of $100,000 or more.

He is being accused of stealing that money from his employer, Traverse Bay Marine.

Court documents show that in 2007, Whiteford was hired as the bookkeeper for the business. Beginning in 2016, Traverse Bay Marine received indications that there were irregularities in their finance operations.

Court records also show that more than $150,000 was stolen from the business from 2011 to 2016.
