Brothers honored for their quick thinking and heroic actions
Grand Traverse County, MI (WPBN/WGTU) —
There was a surprise honor for two northern Michigan brothers at the Traverse City Commission meeting.
Ethan and Hunter Haldaman sat in the front row with little idea of what the Traverse City Police Department had in store for them.
It wasn’t until Captain Gillis addressed the commissioners and the citizens in attendance that the surprise was lifted.
Ethan and Hunter became heroes in a split second in November.
The pair was outside of the Check and Cash store when they say they saw an SUV crash through the front window.
One woman, who was sitting at her desk inside the business at the time of the crash, was under the wreckage.
The brothers rushed in and helped pull her out of the debris before first responders were even on the scene.
Tonight, Ethan and Hunter were presented with medals and commendations from the Police Hall of fame for their actions.
