Cadillac man faces federal child pornography charge
A Cadillac man will be in federal court in Grand Rapids for making and distributing child pornography. Investigators say the child involved was under three years old.
Brian Sevrey was arrested last week on five charges including child sexually abusive activity and using a computer to commit a crime. Wednesday he was transferred from the Wexford County Jail to Grand Rapids to face the federal charge.
The investigation began when Google alerted the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The national agency then contacted the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit.
Officials were able to charge Sevrey with state charges as well as pursue the federal charge due to the nature of the crime.
Sevrey will face a federal judge April 28 for arraignment.
Troopers believe there is one victim in this case.
