Cadillac man killed while crossing M-115
A 89-year-old Cadillac man was killed after being hit by a car on M-115, early Saturday morning.
The victim was hit while crossing M-115 at the canal bridge near North Boulevard while the car, a Jeep, was driving southeast bound on M-115.
The Cadillac Police Department released that the 89-year-old victim is Lewis Raymond Lindsey. Lindsey was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car was a 61-year-old man from Cadillac.
The Cadillac Police Department says that alcohol and speed did not appear to be factors in the accident.
The crash happened near Mitchell State Park, and several campers were startled by the accident.
"We're camping here in the campground and I was kind of awake early in the morning with the traffic and did hear a collision or something like that and about five minutes later I did hear sirens and commotion so I got up, took a walk down, and saw something had happened and someone had gotten struck by a vehicle," said Saginaw resident Marty Wilson, who was staying at the campground.
The accident is still under investigation.
