A special presentation was held at the Cadillac Area YMCA on Thursday for a woman who was actively involved in the Cadillac community.
Mary Dillon is being honored with a bench and new plaque to remember her life and her positive impact on the community at the Cadillac Area YMCA.
According to the YMCA, The Women's Giving Circle provided their time and donations for the bench.
"Every time I saw her (Mary Dillon), she was so positive, even near the end when she wasn't feeling well," says Kurt Baney, Welcome Center Rep at the Cadillac Area YMCA.
According to the Cadillac Area YMCA, Dillon was involved with teaching swimming lessons at the Cadillac YMCA, a professor and head of education in fine arts at Ferris State University, owner of a counseling business, as well as heavily involved with activities at the Y.
In honor of Mary Dillon, the Cadillac area YMCA will have a 'free day' on Thursday, July 10 for everyone from 6 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
