Caldwell formally charged via video conference from Leelanau County Jail
The man accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend in November has been formally charged.
Robert Caldwell, 33, was charged Tuesday with involuntary manslaughter, discharge of a firearm while under the influence, felony firearm and resisting and obstructing police.
Caldwell was arraigned via video conference from the Leelanau County Jail where he is being held on unrelated charges.
Police say Caldwell shot his 28-year-old girlfriend, Monica Anderson, on November 19. He told police he was attempting to commit suicide and missed.
A preliminary exam is scheduled for February 11.
