The driver who hit a horse drawn buggy and drove away has turned himself in.
Michigan State Police officials confirm the man turned himself in Thursday and is being questioned. He is expected to be arraigned Friday.
Troopers from the Cadillac Post responded to the crash between the buggy and a car on Old US 131 near 18 Road, south of Manton around 8 PM Wednesday. The horse drawn buggy was carrying seven young people when it was hit from behind by the vehicle traveling the same direction, according to witnesses.
All seven passengers were thrown out of the buggy. One person was taken to the hospital. After impact, witnesses say the vehicle that struck the buggy drove away.
The horse ran away from the scene but was later found near the owner's home.
