The holiday season can mean long waits for travelers, as people fly across the country to visit family and friends.
Cherry Capital Airport Director Kevin Klein said that the busiest time of year for the airport is August, but the holidays aren't far behind. Business picks up at Cherry Capital beginning the Friday before Thanksgiving and stays steady through the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
Klein provided a few tips to UpNorthLive to help people beat the holiday rush:
- Arrive 60-90 minutes before your scheduled flight in order to check-in early.
- Check the Transportation Security Administration website to know what you can bring and what you should leave at home.
- Keep up-to-date on weather; not only from your departure city, but any city with planned connection flights and your arrival city.
Klein also recommends keeping up with the latest flight information through the Cherry Capital Airport mobile app.
Finally, Klein said to be patient!
