Children "countdown to noon" at Great Lakes Children's Museum
LEELANAU COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Northern Michigan kids and their families were able to ring in the new year a little early Sunday.
The Great Lakes Children's Museum in Leelanau County held their 17th Annual Countdown to Noon event for all of the kids that aren't able to stay up until midnight.
Kids were able to make New Year's Eve hats and additions for their custom New Year's Eve ball.
The kids were also able to enjoy all of the exhibits at the museum.
Organizers say this their biggest event of the entire year.
"It's just really fun because a lot of kids at this age especially cannot even make it up until or cannot stay up until midnight," said Lisa Pointe, Development and Events Director. "They want to and they think they can but they can't. So by making it this kid-friendly venue in the middle of the day everyone can participate and have the fun and see the streamers and excitement."
The event was open to everyone and $7 for each person at the door.
