ISABELLA COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- An 18-year-old was formally charged after allegedly assaulting his roommates at a dorm on Central Michigan University's campus.

Quinn McCrum was arraigned Monday afternoon on the charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence.

It happened shortly before 12 a.m. Monday.

According to the Central Michigan University Police Department, someone called 911 to report he was assaulted by his roommate.

Officers then responded to the 7th floor of Wheeler Hall and determined that the 18-year-old suspect hit the caller and then advanced on a second person with an open pocket-knife before leaving the scene.

Police say with the help from video surveillance and eyewitness information, officers were able to track the suspect to an area south of CMU's campus near the southbound expressway.

The suspect, now identified as McCrum, was then taken into custody by officers around 2:10 a.m. without incident.

McCrum's bond was set at $10,000 (10%). He has posted bond and was released from custody.
