We've had some cold nights, but tonight looks like the coldest of them all.
Wind Chill Advisory for all of northern Michigan thru midday on Friday. Winds won't be as strong as what we got last night...but it will gust over 20 mph at times. The real issue is the thermometer readings.
We are EXPECTING records to be broken. Record low temperatures are from 12 to 22 below for tonight's date. The forecast lows are in the range of 5 to 25 below tonight. Normal or typical lows this time of year are around 14 above. So way below the normal tonight.
Plus we have to deal with the extremely low wind chills. Even a light wind will keep the wind chills in the neighborhood of 15 to 25 below all evening and into tomorrow.
Snow showers will come and go tonight and for the next several days. The higher chance of seeing measureable snow will be this evening and Friday evening.
No breaks in the future. Highs thru the weekend will be in the range of 5 to 15 degrees.
Protect yourself from the cold. Take the BIG coat when you got out!
