A Conway man has been arrested on felony child abuse charges against a four-month-old infant.
According to the Emmet County Sheriff, deputies went to a Alanson home on Tuesday on a call of an infant with a possible broken leg.
After investigating the situation, deputies found "it was clear" the infant was physically abused.
Lawrence Allen Venchenko, of Conway, was arrested the next day on one count of first degree felony child abuse.
The Sheriff explains first degree child abuse as a crime where the suspect knowingly or intentionally causes serious physical harm to a child. It is a felony that is punishable with up to life in prison.
Sheriff Wallin said the injuries are "extensive."
Venchenko is being held in the Emmet County Jail on a $50,000 bond. He is set to be arraigned on February 3.
