Friday will be cool, with temperatures below normal, but warmer weather is in store for northern Michigan heading into next week.
High pressure moving in from the plains and over the Great Lakes will begin to clear out the clouds over northern Michigan as we go throughout Friday. It won't warm things up a whole lot though - afternoon highs will remain in the 50s and 60s (normal for this time of year is low to mid 70s). It'll be breezy too - winds out of the westerly direction at 10-20mph and gusts to 30mph.
With just a few clouds hanging out overnight, overnight lows will drop into the 30s and low 40s - we may have some patchy frost so cover your sensitive plants or bring them inside. Winds will drop to become light out of the northwest.
Saturday will be comfortable, with highs around 70 and lots of sunshine. The northernmost counties may see a little more cloud cover, but it won't ruin your day.
Father's Day is looking good! Temps will get up into the low 70s, and it'll be a bit windy (south winds 10-20mph, gusts to 30mph) but we'll have a mix of sun and clouds. Rain will hold off until later Sunday evening - as it looks now, to be after 8pm.
