A man and his live-in girlfriend were discovered dead in Newaygo County Thursday afternoon.
Around 4:30 pm on Thursdays, Newaygo County Central Dispatch received a call from a woman indicating she had discovered 56-year-old Joseph Cherneski and 55-year-old Patricia VanDyke dead at their home near M-37 in Brohman, according to a release from the Newaygo County Sheriff's Office.
Upon entering the home, deputies discovered both Cherneski and VanDyke dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
The couple was last seen on Wednesday at approximately 4:30 pm.
The Sheriff's Office says there does not appear to have been forced entry into the home. The incident is being investigated as a double homicide.
