MASON COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- The Mason County Sheriff's Office released the name of the driver killed in a crash involving a sailboat.

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Jacob Gross of Grayling.

It happened Saturday around 6:12 p.m. on US-10 W of Stiles Road.

According to the Mason County Sheriff's Office, a 2005 Chevy Impala heading east on US-10 crossed the center-line and sideswiped a westbound 2017 Chevy Silverado pickup. The Impala then collided head-on with a sailboat on a trailer. The last collision brought the sailboat through the windshield of the Impala, killing that vehicle's driver, now identified as Gross, instantly.

US-10 had lane restrictions for three hours while crews worked at the scene.

The case does remain under investigation by the sheriff's office.
