The man who pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct in May was sentenced on Thursday.
Kevin Corrion, 48, will spend between 7 to 15 years behind bars. Corrion will also be on the sex offender registry and will be monitored for life.
According to the Chippewa County Prosecutor, the case originated from the sexual assault of a woman on Drummond Island on Aug. 2012.
"We always believed in the victim, but the guilty pleas and public admission by Corrion were important for the victim," says assistant prosecutor Jim Robinson. "The victim's courage inspired all of us working on this case."
