Drunk woman arrested for hitting deputy while being removed from apartment

The 42-year-old woman was very intoxicated, deputies say, and fell down in the apartment while preparing to leave. When the deputy helped her to her feet, she pushed him and hit him on the chin.

A Traverse City woman was arrested after hitting a deputy while he was attempting to remove her from an apartment.

According to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office, a deputy responded to an apartment on Keystone Road in Garfield Township Thursday just before midnight for a report of a disorderly person who was refusing to leave an apartment.

The 42-year-old woman was very intoxicated, deputies say, and fell down in the apartment while preparing to leave. When the deputy helped her to her feet, she pushed him and hit him on the chin.

The woman was taken to Munson Medical Center for evaluation because of her high level of intoxication.

A couple hours later, she was taken to the Grand Traverse County Jail and was held for assaulting a police officer. The deputy was not injured.
