As cherry festival comes to a close DTE Energy is getting ready to "float" downFront Street Saturday morning. The final day of the 87-th national cherry festival will be headlined by the popular d-t-e energy cherry royale parade.
In it's 12th year as title sponsor for the parade -- DTE Energy designed it's float to model the brand new waterscape in Clinch Park. With 150 entries in this years parade, organizers say they are excited to see all of the Traverse City community represented.
"The parade has a great selection of floats from all different parts of the community and organizations in the community," said Dave Whitman of DTE Energy. "And a lot of the elementary schools and their floats will be featured throughout the parade, it will be a great show I'm sure."
he parade begins at 11:15 a.m. down Front Street to Union Street and all the way down to Thirteenth Street.
