Farwell man killed, daughter hospitalized after two-car crash on US-10
A man was killed in a two-car crash on US-10 Tuesday evening in Surrey Township.
According to the Clare County Sheriff's Office, a 42-year-old Lake woman was driving a silver Chevrolet Cavalier east on US-10 when she crossed the center line, hitting a grey Chevrolet HHR head on.
The Sheriff's Office reports the HHR was driven by Kathryn Skipworth, of Farwell. Her father, Harold Short, 81, was in the passenger seat and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Skipworth was taken to Clare Hospital and later transferred to Midland Hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries, the Sheriff's Office said.
The 42-year-old Lake woman was taken to Clare where she was treated for possible injuries.
The Sheriff's Office believes drugs to be a factor in the crash, along with poor weather conditions.
Blood results are pending. The crash is still under investigation.
