A 31-year-old man was killed in a traffic crash occurring in Gilmore Township on Tuesday evening.
Around 8:17 p.m., the Michigan State Police were called to the intersection of W. Coleman Rd. and N. Littlefield Rd. According to the Michigan State Police, the 24-year-old female, of Remus, was driving a 2005 Pontiac G6, when she crossed over into the lane of a tractor trailer.
A 1999 Peterbilt tractor trailer tried to avoid the Pontiac by crossing over into another lane but the Pontiac corrected back, causing the crash.
The driver of the Pontiac was airlifted to Butterworth Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids where she is being treated for serious injuries.
The passenger in the Pontiac, 31-year-old Aaron Jacob Latham, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor trailer, 43-year-old man of Farwell, was transported to McLaren Central Michigan for non-life threatening injuries.
The Michigan State Police will continue to investigate the incident.
