Father of injured Cadillac baby arrested for first degree child abuse
The father of the 7-week-old baby that was hospitalized with a head injury has been arrested on child abuse charges.
According to the Cadillac Police Department, 22-year-old Robert Garrett-Lee Endelmann was arrested on Friday morning on the charge of first degree child abuse.
The charge carries a maximum of life in prison.
Police report they do not expect any further arrests in this case.
The infant remains in critical condition at DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids. Police say her condition has stabilized over the week. She is suffering from multiple skull fractures and a fracture of her vertebrae.
Police say her prognosis is unknown at this time.
The investigation began on Saturday when Child Protective Services workers alerted police to a 7-week-old baby who was being treated for head injuries.
The baby lived with her parents at Cadillac Shores Apartments in the City of Cadillac at the time of the incident.
