A fire broke out inside a warehouse at the Oaks Correctional Facility near Manistee Tuesday evening,
The warehouse is on prison property, but it is outside of the secured area.
A prison official said no one was inside when flames broke out. A few carts and laundry were destroyed.
The cause is still being determined. Fire investigators with the Department of Corrections are expected to be at the scene Wednesday morning.
A prison official said the fire supression system played a big role in keeping the blaze under control.
