Flood watch in effect, rain continues into Sunday

A flood watch is in effect for many areas across northern Michigan.

A flood watch is in effect for many areas across northern Michigan. The flood watch includes Clare, Gratiot, Isabella, Mecosta, Montcalm, Osceola, Lake, Mason, Newaygo and Oceana counties. The flood watch is expected to expire Monday morning. People living in low lying areas near rivers and creeks should be on alert for possible flooding. The flooding has the potential to wash away some roadways.

Some of the rain will be heavy across northern Michigan into Sunday, and you may hear thunder. Embedded in the showers will be some thunderstorms. Anywhere it rains hard, you need to slow down on the wet roads.

Sunday, we??ll see more clouds with highs in the 60s, showers, and thunderstorms. Winds will be light 5-15 mph, but it will gust stronger along the shores of the Great Lakes. There is a Small Craft Advisory for much of the shoreline until midday Sunday.

Monday, the chance for thunderstorms is small, but we will have more scattered showers. The rain won??t move out of the region completely until Monday evening. Tuesday will be sunny.
