Former Harbor Springs school employee pleads guilty to sexual assault charges
The former Harbor Springs schools director of maintenance and baseball coach has pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct charges.
Scott Lepird, 43, of Alanson, pleaded guilty to fourth degree criminal sexual conduct, which carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison.
According to the Emmet County prosecutor, several counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct were dropped as a part of the plea deal.
The case against Lepird alleged he had an inappropriate relationship with a female student at Harbor Springs High School from Aug. 2013 to Jan. 2014.
After being arrested in February, Lepird was released on a $7,500 bond, but had his bond revoked after contacting the victim repeatedly.
He is currently being held in the Emmet County Jail.
Lepird's sentencing is scheduled for May 22.
