Former school employee sentenced to 9 months for relationship with student
The former Harbor Springs schools director of maintenance and baseball coach has been sentenced to 9 months in jail.
Scott Lepird was sentenced Thursday in Emmet County circuit court. He will spend 9 months in jail and face five years of probation.
Lepird will also be placed on the sex offender registry.
Lepird pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a female student that lasted from Aug. 2013 to Jan. 2014.
He was originally charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, but those charges were dropped in exchange for his guilty plea to the fourth-degree charges.
