Former school house turned apartment building damaged in fire
A former school house that has been renovated into a nine-unit apartment building was damaged in a fire Thursday evening.
Fire crews were called to the building at 188 Lincoln Street in Manistee after 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Crews reported fire and smoke was visible on the first floor of the building. It took crews about half an hour to contain the fire.
Crews believe the fire started in the kitchen area of one of the apartments.
All occupants of the apartments made it out of the building and there were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is not yet determined.
