Four alumni were inducted into the Traverse City Central Hall of Fame Friday evening.
Len Hawley, Jerry Stanek, Dave Whiteford and Lars Hockstad were all nominated by members of the community.
Hawley served in the U.S. Army for 25 years.
He became a Colonel in 1989, served at the Pentagon, and taught at the National Defense University.
He travelled from the Washington, D.C. area for the ceremony.
Hawley offered some advice to students in the Traverse City school system.
"Getting out of bed every morning is pretty easy if you like what you're doing," Hawley said. "Find out what turns you on and pursue that, and you will do well".
Forty-two alumni and staff have been inducted into the TCC Hall of Fame since it was started in 2004.
