Frankfort youngster records unassisted triple play

A 7-year-old Frankfort ballplayer made history the other day by recording an unassisted triple play

Very few Major Leaguers will accomplish what 7-year-old Elliot Hammon did the other day.

On Saturday, the Frankfort native recorded an unassisted triple play by catching a line drive, touching second base to out a runner heading for third and tagging out a runner coming from first.

An unassisted triple play has only been accomplished 15 times in Major League Baseball since records were kept back in 1909.

The Traverse City Beach Bums are picking up on the excitement and have invited Elliot to Wuerful Park in August to throw out the first pitch for a game.
