Free dental care day for local veterans
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mi (WPBN/WGTU) -- Aspen Dental locations around the country will open their doors to veterans and give them free dental care this weekend.
Of the more than 21 million veterans across the U.S., fewer than 10 million are enrolled for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs health benefits, which for many does not include dental care benefits. The June 24 Day of Service will be Aspen Dental's fourth annual, and is the largest single-day oral health initiative targeted at veterans. It's part of Aspen Dental's Healthy Mouth Movement, a community-giving initiative to deliver free dental care to veterans.
Since the yearly event started in 2014, nearly 7,000 veterans have received the treatment they needed for free.
Appointments are required and available on a first-come, first-serve basis Call: 1-844-AspenHMM to schedule an appointment.
The event is Saturday, June 24. There are varying times depending on participating offices.
